The two Koreas on Wednesday exchanged documents that confirm which individuals of war-separated families on either side are still alive.
The documents were swapped at the border truce village of Panmunjom to prepare for the reunion of the families
The two sides are narrowing down the candidates before exchanging final lists early next month.
According to the Unification Ministry here, the session went as planned and Pyongyang made no extra demands. North Korea has demanded the return of a group of the regime’s restaurant workers who defected to the South in 2016.
The long-overdue event is scheduled to take place over a week in mid-August.
