3 Korean Brands Make Most Valuable Brands Lists

Apple topped the list of the world's 100 most valuable brands released by Forbes on Wednesday. The U.S. tech giant is valued at US$145.3 billion and has remained at the top of the list for the last five years. Samsung was the highest-ranked non-American company at seventh.
The Apple brand was worth more than twice as much as second-place Microsoft with $69.3 billion. Google came in third with $65.6 billion, followed by Coca-Cola ($56 billion), IBM ($49.8 billion) and McDonald's ($39.5 billion). U.S.-based companies took the top six spots on the list.
Samsung was valued at $37.9 billion, followed by Toyota ($37.8 billion), General Electric ($37.5 billion) and Facebook ($36.5 billion). Among non-American companies, only Samsung and Toyota made it into the top 10. The other Korean companies on the list include Hyundai at 64th ($8.4 billion) and Kia at 97th ($6.2 billion).
