After being arrested this past March for the use and smuggling of methamphetamine, prosecutors have asked for actor Kim Sung Min to be sentenced to two years in prison as well as a fine of 1.7 million KRW, an estimated $1,437 USD, on August 19th. Despite his repentant attitude, prosecutors have remained firm in their request.

The prosecution stated, "Although Kim Sung Min seems to be repentant, he still committed these crimes during a probationary period and should be prosecuted for these severe acts." During trial, the actor gave his final plea, saying, "I'm sorry. I'm very deeply repentant."

This is not the first time Kim Sung Min has been arrested on drug charges. The actor was previously arrested in 2008 and 2009 for smuggling and using marijuana, and even appeared on a talk show in 2013, apologizing for his criminal acts. Kim Sung Min has pleaded guilty to most of the charges, and both and he and his wife have both written a letter asking for forgiveness and leniency.

Kim Sung Min is known for his roles on 'Miss Mermaid' and 'On Air', and most recently worked on 'Can We Love?' and 'The Three Musketeers' back in 2014. However, due to the conservative nature of Korean television, the actor was only able to appear solely in cable dramas after his drug scandals.

The actor is set for his final trial and sentencing on September 2nd.
