AKMU just made their grand return with their third album "Sailing", and title track "How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You're the One I Love." On September 25, the sibling duo held a press conference where they spoke about various topics regarding their comeback and return.
Lee Chanhyuk was discharged from the military this past May. The singer-writer of the duo revealed a few things about his songs. He said, "I wrote most of the songs on board a ship. The reason that the songs go well with the concept of 'Sailing' is because they were all written while sailing in the ocean. I worked on them in a setting where I had no guitar, just a notebook and pen; I would write down the lyrics and then add a melody over those lyrics, memorizing them. I worked like that for a month."
Additionally, Chanhyuk addressed a few topics about the group's label, and their scandals. He said, “We understand what our fans are worried about. The people we worked with are really great people. We stayed up all night for days as we happily worked on this album, so for now, we want to spend a little more time focusing on being happy in the moment and bringing good results.”
Chanhyuk also gave his statement on why they joined YG Entertainment. He stated, “Within the agency, we have the freedom to do what we want. For example, a friend helped us make our new album cover. A lot of our opinions are reflected in our work, and what the agency does is to provide the funding.”
