Close to achieving record breaking numbers before release, Big Bang's G-Dragon has already achieved over 300,000 pre-orders for his second solo album, Coup d'Etat, in Korea alone.
Although much of G-Dragon's second album has already been released, the album in its entirety is due for release on September 13. Along with this release will be some exclusive content, which includes two songs that are only accessible through the album itself.
Many of the pre-release songs have already been taking prominent real estate in the music charts, with his own songs vying for top spot competing amongst themselves. G-Dragon's true skill shows immediately, as his popularity is already making a statement on the music charts before his album drops.
The upcoming album release has already shown great promise by pushing over 300,000 album pre-order sales, which is driving even more curiosity and suspense for when the album drops officially. Big Bang has also stated that they will begin to start their 6 dome tour in Japan starting November, which may bring even more publicity and demand for Coup d'Etat.
Counting all of these different variables, there may be a good probability that Coup d'Etat may break the previous record for most albums sold by a solo male artist. Surpassing EXO's record of 740,000 album sales may also be a reality for G-Dragon's Coup d'Etat.
In the meantime, G-Dragon will be pre-occupied with the opening for his photo exhibit Space Eight on September 10.
