Celebrity siblings Uhm Jung Hwa and Uhm Tae Woong have left their long time entertainment agency, Shim Entertainment. In a statement, Shim Entertainment said, “After 11 years in the entertainment business with us, Uhm Jung Hwa and Uhm Tae Woong have chosen a beautiful farewell following a long negotiation on our future together. Although we are no longer managing their careers, we promised to support each other in our future endeavors and will continue to cheer for each other. We will continue to support these two people in the future.”
Uhm Jung Hwa is a South Korean actress, singer, and lingerie designer. Uhm began her career as a chorus member of MBC, one of the three major South Korean broadcasting companies, from 1987 until 1990. She made her film debut in a 1991 to 1994 film Marriage Story, and released her first studio album Sorrowful Secret the same year. Considered to be one of the most influential women and the evergreen in the Korean entertainment industry, many of Korean female artists recognise her as their role model.
Uhm Tae Woong is a South Korean actor. He made his acting debut in 1998, but initially struggled to emerge from under the shadow of his older sister, popular singer-actress Uhm Jung-hwa. After several years of small roles and work in one-act dramas, Uhm began to gain recognition after his villainous turn in the romantic comedy Delightful Girl Choon-Hyang. In 2005, he made his breakthrough in the critically acclaimed Resurrection, followed by another revenge-themed series The Devil in 2007. Since then, he has starred in diverse leading roles on film and television, notably in Forever the Moment (2008), Chaw (2009), Cyrano Agency (2010), Architecture 101 (2012), and Man from the Equator (2012).
