Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has filed another patent-infringement lawsuit against Samsung. It filed the first in May. Chinese media on Thursday said Huawei filed the lawsuit in China accusing Samsung of illegally using patented mobile phone and display technologies.
Huawei is demanding 80 million yuan in compensation and 500,000 yuan in legal costs. Huawei claims it obtained patents to the technologies in China five years ago and Samsung illegally used them in 16 products, including the Galaxy S7.
A Samsung staffer said, "We will closely examine and respond to the allegations once we receive notification of the lawsuit." In May, Huawei accused Samsung of illegally using 11 of its patented 4G communication technologies and filed lawsuits in the U.S. and China.
