CL Under Fire for Controversial LA Performance of ‘MTBD’

CL is on the chopping block yet again for her controversial track using the words of the Quran! When CL first released ‘MTBD’ in 2014, the track became a very big issue once Muslims began to notice that the words of the Quran were being used in the background track and sound. Since the Quran is a purely religious text, Muslims were very upset and demanded that it was blasphemy for the holy book to be used simply for entertainment purposes.

The Korea Muslim Federation issued a formal complaint, and YG Entertainment removed the controversial background track of the song. It looks like there was a snafu however, as CL recently performed the track ‘MTBD’ in Los Angeles, which her fans were very surprised to hear. An unedited version somehow ended up being played during the performance, and now fans are demanding both an explanation and an apology for the mistake.

Although there has been no official apology or statement from the CL camp, it seems that they received the message loud and clear, as their more recent performance of ‘MTBD’ in Dallas used the edited version without the Quran verses.

MTBD 🙏 @cltour2016
