On the September 26th installment of JTBC's Sleeping with the Boss", FNC Entertainment managed groups F.T. Island, CNBLUE, and AoA all made guest appearances on the show to discuss their working relationship with FNC Entertainment.
In the episode, both CNBLUE and Hongki shared shocking information about their hardships while working under FNC. CNBLUE's Minhyuk and Jonghyun said that while in Japan, they were forced to carry their own instruments and told to ride the subway after their performances.
"FNC is famous for its harsh discipline," the CNBLUE members stated. Giving an example they said, "In a room about five-square meters (around 54 square feet) or so, they made 5-6 of us play guitar for 10 hours." They added, "Later, we moved to a nice practice room. At that point, one person could take one room, but [FNC] continued to monitor us."
FNC representative Han Sung Ho explained FNC's harsh management saying, "We warn them three times. If they get three warnings, then they are expelled." When they were asked by the MC's if there was anyone that had left FNC that became successful, Han Sung Ho said, "Yes. MBLAQ's Lee Joon."
Lee Joon is known to be a very successful artist as he is currently making waves in the acting scene. CNBLUE member Jonghyun showed his confidence and support for his former labelmate saying, "Wherever Lee Joon goes, he will survive."
F.T. Island member Hongki also remembered when an FNC rep, specifically Han Sung Ho, was harsh to him. In the video clip above, he stated that he was so tired after a performance in Japan that he did not wish to attend the company dinner. He admitted, "I said to my company, 'I'm too tired. I don't think I'll be able to come out,' and then [Han Song Ho] called me directly, saying, 'Help me out'."
He continued on to say, "I said, 'Representative, I'm so tired. I can't rest day after day; if I don't rest today, I won't get to rest at all. Until the 11th, I'll be busy.'" Even so, Han Sung Ho demanded Hongki to attend, saying, "Shouldn't you come out for the FNC family?" Baffled, Hongki told the set, "He was asking me for a favor, but his tone was forceful."
Even with the story being told, Hongki and Han Sung Ho showed how close they were with their jabs at each other. Han Sung Ho jokingly stated, "When we're getting along, being with Hongki is comfortable; when he acts rebellious, because I'm tired, I prefer being with the calm CNBLUE members."
