A five-inch smartphone screen was most popular among American and British consumers, Strategy Analytics said on Wednesday. The U.S. market researcher conducted the poll in the second half of last year to find out their preferred smartphone screen size. Some 23 percent chose a five-inch screen, followed by a 5.3-inch (16 percent), a 5.5-inch and a 4.7-inch.
The results show that demand for larger screens is growing as an increasing number of people, with faster wireless internet speed, enjoy high-definition films and videos on their smartphones. When the research firm conducted the same survey in the second half of 2013 and the first half of last year, a 4.7-inch screen was most preferred.
