Hanwha Group chairman, Kim Seung Youn has left for the United States to seek medical treatment despite being on probation in Korea on a corruption conviction. The chairman was released from Seoul National University Hospital earlier this week while continuing outpatient treatment from his home.
Kim was released on probation on Feb. 19 after the courts found him guilty of corruption. He was sentenced to community service but asked for postponement of the sentence, citing health reasons. Kim flew to the US on a company plane.
