Crooner Richard Marx to Promote Incheon

Eighties crooner Richard Marx has seen a surprising upshot of his very public spat with Korean Air over a rowdy passenger by being named promotional ambassador for the city of Incheon. Incheon announced the appointment on Tuesday.
Marx, whose star has slightly faded since he topped the charts with hits like "Right Here Waiting" in the late 1980s, made global headlines when he helped subdue a drunk passenger aboard a Korean Air flight in December last year.
Despite publicly accusing airline staff of incompetence, he seems to have endeared himself to other Koreans with his derring-do.
He is to give concerts in Incheon, Seoul and Busan from June 2 to 4. He was originally scheduled to perform in May, but his agency cancelled citing the unstable political climate.
Incheon said Marx will promote the city on social media for a two-year period.
