Dahee and Lee Ji Yeon Are Given Lighter Sentences for Blackmailing Lee Byung Hun

Model Lee Ji Yeon and GLAM's Dahee's appeals to the court apparently have been effective, since they were recently given lighter sentences after having attempted to blackmail Lee Byung Hun for 5 billion KRW (approx. 5 Million USD)! For those that don't know, the pair were sentenced to one year in prison, which they both immediately began to appeal.

The prosecution placed an appeal as well, asking for a three year sentence instead, while Lee Byung Hun himself asked that the two be pardoned. It seems that the court took Lee Byung Hun's request for pardon into consideration due to the fact that the girls seem to be deeply reflecting their new verdict. Instead of 1 year in prison for Dahee, her newest appeals sentence is 1 year in jail and suspended for two years. Lee Ji Yeon's sentence is 1 year and 2 months in jail while being suspended for 2 years.

The court then stated, "The victim expressed his wishes for the defendants to be let off the hook, and the crime itself had ended before it progressed into something more. In addition, the defendants also showed that they've been deeply reflecting their wrongdoing during the 6 months they were detained. Since they're also both first time offenders and of young age, we determined that the original sentence was too heavy."
