Drama and Variety Show Broadcasts Cancelled In Light of Sewol Ferry Tragedy

Due to the Sewol Ferry tragedy, multiple television networks have cancelled the broadcasts of their variety shows and dramas today April 17th, both out of respect and also to free up airtime to broadcast news updates about the incident.
KBS has cancelled their broadcast of "Happy Together", but will still be airing one episode of their daily drama "Sky Angel" as well as the third episode of their prime-time drama, "Golden Cross", which was moved to air today after being cancelled yesterday.
MBC will air "Shining Romance" and "Mother's Garden", as well as the final two episodes for "Cunning Single Lady". Kang Ho Dong's new variety show "Star Gazing" has been cancelled for tonight.
SBS has cancelled their Thursday variety show, "Hundred Year Guest - Jagiya", but has not yet announced whether or not they will be cancelling the broadcast of their prime-time drama "Three Days".
tvN has also cancelled several shows throughout the week, such as "Taxi", "Potato Star", "Comedy Big League", and "Saturday Night Live Korea".
Music channel Mnet has cancelled their broadcast of "M! Countdown" as well as Block B's new reality show, "5 Minutes Before Chaos".
The Sewol Ferry incident happened on April 16th, where a ferry traveling from Incheon to Jeju Island with a cargo of 475 passengers sank off the coast of Jindo. Over 300 of the passengers are students from Danwon High School located in Ansan, and were on the ferry for their school trip. So far, nine passengers have been reported as deceased with 179 passengers rescued and 287 passengers still missing. Our condolences and prayers go out to the passengers of the Sewol Ferry.
