It looks like “Coachella” just got a little bit more exciting for the K-pop fans at least, with the popular music festival choosing to feature one of Korea’s biggest groups! “Coachella” released the full line-up of artists that will be performing this year, and along with top stars such as Ellie Goulding, Guns N’ Roses, CHVRCHES, Calvin Harris, there will be popular K-pop group Epik High!
This is a huge milestone for K-pop, since they will be the very first Korean group to ever be invited to “Coachella”, and the three are sure to give the performance of a lifetime, and are scheduled to perform on April 17th and 24th. Tickets are going as high as $400.
Epik High is a South Korean alternative hip hop group from Seoul, composed of Tablo, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz. The group is known for combining different styles of hip hop, along with different musical genres and collaborations on each album. The group went on hiatus from 2009–2012 whilst members served individual mandatory military service. On July 25, 2012, YG Entertainment announced that they would sign Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz (Tablo already being signed as he had a solo album under YG) and the group returned with their seventh studio album 99 on October 23, 2012.
