After the short program of the ice dance competition on Sunday at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics, Eric Nam had a chance to sit down with NBC's figure skating commentators, American figure skating legends, Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski.

During the interview, Eric Nam gave a more in-depth definition of K-pop, as American audiences are mainly familiar with BTS and Psy.

He explained his choice at a K-pop career over a career in the U.S. "K-pop was a genre that gave me an opportunity. I don't think American or Western audiences were ready for an Asian face in music. I think now they are. I think people are opening up their eyes and ears and being a lot more accepting. But 7, 8, 10 years ago, we didn't have those opportunities."

He gave Johnny and Tara a look into his process in which he writes music in English first, before transcribing that into Korean. SPICA's Boa makes a surprise appearance and aids Eric in his new song.

The clip can be watched on NBC Olympics' official website.
