EXO has once again displayed their incredible popularity and influence! The group is known for constantly breaking records, such as having most physical albums sold with their first full album, breaking the record for pre-sales for their second album, and now they have broken the record for being the highest chart ranking domestic male group on Billboard's main music chart!
EXO sold 6,000 copies of their second album "EXODUS" during the week ending on April 5th in North America, which is a big milestone for a K-Pop album.
What this means for EXO is that they have established themselves as being the highest charting domestic male group to date on Billboard's main music chart, the Billboard 200 at #90! If that wasn't enough for you, "EXODUS" has also ranked #70 for the Top Album Sales chart.
In order to help you understand what those numbers mean, Taeyang currently holds the highest ranked album for a domestic solo male artist with his album "Rise" at #112 in 2014. 2NE1 holds the title of the highest charting K-Pop act (Co-Ed) coming in at #61 on the Billboard 200.
Billboard mentioned that this would be EXO's second consecutive #1 ranking on Billboard's World Albums Chart, and nine of their songs from "EXODUS" are ranked on the World Digital Songs chart, with their title track "Call Me Baby" being ranked at #2.
