Boy band EXO has sold the most debut singles as a South Korean act to enter Japan ever, its agency said Tuesday. EXO sold more than 147,000 copies of its first single in Japan, "Love Me Right ~romantic universe~," which came out last Wednesday, S.M. Entertainment said. The single also topped the weekly Oricon chart for the week of Nov. 16.

"Love Me Right ~romantic universe~" contains the Japanese version of "Love Me Right," the title track of the band's second album in South Korea, and a new song titled "Drop That."
Previously, Jang Keun-suk held the record after selling 119,000 copies of his Japanese debut single in May 2011.

S.M. said EXO drew hundreds of thousands of people to concerts held at Tokyo Dome from Friday to Sunday. The group took the shortest amount of time since debuting to perform there, which is one of Japan's most prestigious venues, the agency said, adding Bon Jovi previously held the record. The boys will take on Osaka Dome from this coming Friday to Sunday, S.M. said.
