Many are looking forward to its second season with how the brilliant execution of the first season had viewers interested for more, even after its season finale.
The series takes on an interesting twist on the zombie genre, especially with its timeline being set back in Korea's Joseon era. It also proves to be interesting to webtoon readers as it is an adaptation of the webtoon 'The Kingdom of the Gods', written by Kim Eun-Hee and drawn by Yang Kyung-Il; it is directed by Kim Seong-Hun and Kim Eun-Hee.
The first season of 'Kingdom' followed Crown Prince Yi-Chang (played by Ju Ji-Hoon) in his mission to investigate a mysterious plague that infected his father and is spreading to the southern provinces after becoming involved in a political conspiracy. The second season continues in Yi-Chang's attempts to save his country.
