Former prime minister Lee Wan-koo appeared for questioning Thursday over allegations that he took bribes from a dubious developer who has committed suicide.
Lee denied the charges although prosecutors grilled him past midnight. Prosecutors still plan to indict him with the other evidence that Sung Wan-jong, who hanged himself last month, gave W30 million to Lee's aides (US$1=W1,092).
Sung left a list of senior figures, many close to President Park Geun-hye, who he said took bribes from him. Lee resigned last month.
