Sung Kim, the U.S. deputy assistant secretary for Korea and Japan, will visit Seoul again this week. Kim is a former ambassador to Seoul. One diplomatic source in Seoul said Friday Kim will visit Korea and Japan in his capacity as special representative for North Korean affairs. He is not expected to visit Beijing.
Kim is the putative U.S. delegate to stalled six-party nuclear talks with North Korea and plans to meet with his South Korea counterpart Hwang Joon-kook to discuss the latest developments. Hwang, meanwhile, is visiting Moscow from Monday to Wednesday to meet with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov.
