Paul Lee, June 17, 2016, 9:44 a.m.
Rock band FT Island’s vocalist Lee Hong-gi will be taking on his third musical role, according to the group’s agency FNC Entertainment on Friday. Lee will take on the role of free-spirited Moo-young in the musical “Those Days,” which was inspired by the songs of the late Korean folk singer-songwriter Kim Kwang-seok.
Lee’s role in the musical will mark his third, following the role of Lysander in 2009 in the Korean remake of William Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” and the role of Dracula in “Vampire” in 2014. The shows of “Vampire” featuring Lee sold out almost immediately after tickets went on sale.
“Those Days” is slated to be shown at Chungmu Art Hall in Seoul from Aug. 25 to Nov. 3.
