GFriend broadcast its second-anniversary celebration party live on Naver’s V app Tuesday. GFriend had their first-ever performance on Jan. 16, 2015. However, due to the filming of “Idol Star Athletics Championships” on Monday, the group celebrated its anniversary a day late.
The broadcast took place in a room filled with gifts from local and overseas fans. The sextet excitedly showed viewers the gifts, which included posters, garlands, photo albums, cupcakes and figurines of each member. The members highlighted how each of the gifts captured the important moments of the K-pop group.
The group also blew out candles on a five-layer cake prepared by fans. During the live broadcast, they repeatedly expressed their appreciation to fans and recounted memorable moments with them. “I remember every moment I’ve spent together with fans. Those moments of hardship are especially memorable ones. I thank for you for supporting us even during the cold weather,” Sowon said.
“Those two years were full of surprises. I just want to say thank you to all of you -- other GFriend members, fans, and the staff of Source music,” Yerin said while shedding tears. Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS.
