Bae Sang-moon on Sunday made a pledge to donate the W200 million (US$1=W1,094) in prize money he earned by winning the KPGA Shinhan Donghae Open in Incheon.  Bae won the event with 13-under 275 after he shot three birdies and two bogeys in the final fourth round.

Bae became the third golfer to claim the title back to back, after Han Jang-sang, who won the inaugural 1981 and 1982 events, and Choi Kyung-ju, who won in 2007 and 2008.  Since he became an established professional golfer here, Bae has been consistently involved in charity work. He donated W5 million for severely disabled people in 2008 and 2009 each and from 2011 to 2013 he made donations for those in need in his hometown of Daegu.

"Because the year is coming to an end, I thought about donating the prize money even before the competition started," Bae said after his victory on Sunday. "I will donate part of it to the K.J. Choi Foundation and the rest to young children in low-income households and the elderly who live alone in Daegu."
