South Korean golfer Chun In-gee, recently crowned the U.S. Women's Open winner on the LPGA Tour, said Tuesday she will have to decide in 10 days whether to join the U.S. circuit immediately.

Chun claimed her first major championship in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on Sunday as a non-LPGA member. The victory will grant the 20-year-old playing privileges for one year. Currently a full-time member of the Korean LPGA Tour, Chun may choose to join the LPGA Tour immediately, or she may do so at the onset of the 2016 season while playing the rest of this season as a non-member.

Upon returning home Tuesday, Chun said the LPGA Tour gave her a July 24 deadline to make up her mind. “The tour told me I should make my decision by Friday next week if I wanted to play full-time this year," she told reporters at Incheon International Airport. "I haven't thought about (joining the tour) at all. I have to discuss it with my coach and my father. I've set a lot of goals I wanted to meet here in South Korea, and I will make my choice carefully after taking them into account."

Chun is scheduled to play in a South Korean tour event this week. She said she tried to get as much sleep as she could on her flight so that she'd be ready to compete again. Chun has also notched victories in South Korea and Japan this year. She is leading the KLPGA Tour in money in 2015, powered by three victories, but said she still has a long way to go to reach her career objective.

"I have to keep training harder to get closer to it, and I have to stay focused on tasks at hand," she added. "I haven't decided whether to join the LPGA Tour this year or next. I just want to concentrate on the upcoming event."

Chun soared from No. 20 to No. 10 in the world rankings after the U.S. Women's Open victory. She may have a shot at beating seasoned LPGA veterans to the South Korean Olympic team for the Rio de Janeiro Summer Games next year, but Chun said she won't get too far ahead of herself.
