Actor Lee Jong-suk will begin his mandatory military service at a public agency on March 8, according to his agency.
Lee was deemed ineligible for active duty as he ruptured a cruciate ligament in a car accident when he was 16.
Instead, he will work for a public agency for two years.
Filming of the TV series "Romance Is a Bonus Book," in which he is currently starring, is scheduled to end in early March, but Lee wrapped up shooting all of his scenes on Wednesday.
