Male indie duo 10cm’s new song “What the Spring??” topped music charts including MelOn, Mnet, Olleh Music, Bugs Music on Saturday. “What the Spring??,” released on April 1, depicts single men complaining about couples enjoying the spring season. Unlike other songs about spring, 10cm’s piece speaks for the singles, not for couples, with the chorus “Flowers all fall down at last just like you two fall apart soon. Screw all up.”

The duo’s new song garnered great attention with its April Fools’ Day prank as well as its humorous lyrics. In a promotion video released on March 31, the duo promised to release a spring-themed song, “Spring is Great,” depicting a sweet love story. They also released a teaser of their music video on March 30, presenting the song’s sweet melody.

However, at noon on April 1, 10cm released the official music video for their new single with an entirely different title. During an MBC radio show later that day, the duo revealed that the videos released in advance had been planned as an April Fools’ Day prank.

The duo is working on their mini album which will be released in May.
