JYJ’s Yoochun Questioned by Gangnam Police over Sexual Assault Allegations

JYJ member Yoochun is facing police interrogation over the alleged sexual assault charges by the Gangnam Police. The idol star, who is currently serving in the military, was summoned for questioning concerning four cases of sexual assault filed by four different alleged victims. At the police station, the idol star gave a statement, "Firstly, I apologize for causing so many people worry. I'll submit to police questioning with integrity."
Park Yoochun formerly known as Micky Yoochun and better known with the mononym Yoochun, is a South Korean singer-songwriter and actor. He is a member of the South Korean boy group JYJ and former member of TVXQ. He has starred in dramas Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010), Miss Ripley (2011), Rooftop Prince (2012), Missing You (2012), Three Days (2014) and The Girl Who Sees Smells (2015). In 2016, while in the middle of his two-year mandatory military service, Park became the subject of a string of sexual assault charges earning him the nickname "Korea's Bill Cosby"
In 2016, while in the middle of his 2-year mandatory military service, Park became a subject of a string of sexual assault allegations. The first case was filed at Gangnam Police Station and involved a 24 year old woman claiming Park raped her in a bathroom of the nightclub she works at. Underwear, clothes, and CCTV footage were presented as evidence. The charges were later dropped by the accuser. Two days later, a second woman filed charges against the singer-actor claiming she was also raped in a bathroom by Park in December 2015 and even called the police a few hours after the assault. A third rape charge was filed the day after and a fourth woman also went to the police claiming Park of raping her in a bathroom in his house. The South Korean authorities formed a special task force to investigate all the sexual assaults filed. Park's agency denied all allegations.
