JYP Issues Apology for TWICE Member Tzuyu’s Outfit

Korean music industry giant JYP apologized Tuesday for explicit words displayed on Tzuyu‘s stage outfit while she was performing live on SBS music program “Inkigayo” on Sunday.
JYP Entertainment, home to nine-member international girl group Twice, admitted it failed to spot the words before band member Tzuyu was on stage. “We apologize for our carelessness,” a staff member at JYP Entertainment told local media. “We will put utmost care to prevent such mistakes (in the future).”
The phrase, “Hoes take off your clothes” was written on a white sleeveless shirt the 16-year-old Tzuyu was wearing when the group collaborated with GFriend to cover eight-member girl group Girls’ Generation‘s megahit “Gee” on Sunday. The word “ho” informally refers to a prostitute and is often used in an offensive way to belittle women.
