Leading up to the November 5th election cycle, Korean American Shari Song vies to win the 9th District King’s County Council seat from the Republican incumbent Reagan Dunn. Song, 49 and a resident of Bellevue, is running as a Democratic candidate, raising more campaign fund than any of Dunn’s previous challengers in what has been dubbed the most competitive county council seat in King’s County in this election cycle.
A first time candidate without direct political experience, Song has served as the president of the Korean American Coalition in Washington, as well as being involved with the Korean American Professional Society and Korean American Chamber of Commerce. She has also been awarded the King County Recognition for Community Service Award.
