It’s truly a difficult time for KARA and their fans, as they have seen some emotional ups and downs in the recent weeks that they’ve been going through with the group’s contracts expiring and the group disbanding after three of the members having left DSP Media. The tough times seems to have taken its toll on member Youngji, the only member of KARA left with DSP Media, who began to cry during a recording session of MBC’s “CEO’s Next Door”.
In the episode, the theme was “A Gift to Myself”, and Youngji decided to go visit her family and pet dogs. Youngji checked out the café that her mother worked at, and right when she saw her dogs Leon and Fruit, her eyes lit up and she couldn’t help herself from smiling. After the meeting with her family and pets, Youngji then teared up and stated in her interview, "The only people I can rely on when I'm having a hard time, exhausted, or annoyed is my family."
KARA is a South Korean pop girl group formed by DSP Media in 2007. The group's final line-up was composed of Park Gyuri, Han Seungyeon, Goo Hara and Heo Youngji. The group's name comes from the Greek word "chara", which they interpreted to mean "sweet melody". DSP Media announced on January 15th that Gyuri, Seungyeon and Hara's contracts with the company had expired, thus disbanding the group.
