North Korea celebrated its latest launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile by plastering state media with articles praising the feat.
The North's official Korean Central News Agency said Monday that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his wife Ri Sol-ju attended a banquet celebrating the second test launch of the Hwasong-14.
The couple were also present at a banquet on July 10 celebrating an earlier launch of the ICBM, which is now believed to be capable of reaching the U.S. mainland.
The Rodong Sinmun daily lauded Kim as the "supreme commander of nuclear forces" and referred to the first launch of the Hwasong-14 as the "July 4 Revolution" and the second launch as the "July 28 Revolution" marking the dates of the missile launches.
It added that the missile signals the arrival of an era in which "U.S. invaders will disappear from the face of the earth."
