A local advertising planner shared his insights of the sector during the latest episode of SBS’ celebrity news program “Night of TV Entertainment.” In the episode, which aired on Wednesday, advertising planner Oh Kyung-soo appeared as a guest on the show. Oh said that actor Kim Soo-hyun has so far earned 18 billion won ($15 million) by appearing in TV ads in China and Korea.
“Kim is the most sought-after Korean actor in China although he became less appealing to advertisers in Korea,” Oh said. He added, “In Korea, actress Jun Ji-hyun is still second to none. Even after she got pregnant, her deals are getting renewed.” Apart from actors and actresses, hit chefs are recently rising as hotshot TV ad models, he said, citing chefs Baek Jong-won and Choi Hyun-seok.
Kim Soo Hyun is a South Korean actor best known for his roles in the television dramas Dream High, Moon Embracing the Sun, My Love from the Star and The Producers, as well as the movies The Thieves and Secretly, Greatly.
