Kim Soo Hyun Sponsors and Invests $7 Million USD for Own Movie “Real”

Kim Soo Hyun has partnered up with the resort chain company “Paradise Group” in his upcoming feature film “Real”. Paradise Group stated on October 26th, "Kim Soo Hyun will sponsor his own movie 'Real' by investing 8,000,000,000 KRW (~$7.07 million USD) in it." The movie’s filming will be taking place at Paradise City, which currently is being constructed at Incheon’s Yeongjong Island with the direction of Paradise Group.
The film “Real” has gained a lot of attention in the media recently for being the second official project of Alibaba Pictures, a subsidiary of the Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba Group. Alibaba Pictures decided to take direct part in the investing in and distribution of the film, especially after its last project, which was “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation”.
Kim Soo Hyun will play the role of Jang Tae Young, a ruthless man who is blinded by his greed. He embarks on an ambitious journey to create a casino empire for himself. The movie will begin to film towards the end of this year.
