Korea has outpaced Japan to become the world’s 2nd largest semiconductor supplier. Japan held the title for quite some time, but Korea managed to overtake them by experiencing a 1.5% point rise this year. It also helps that Japan dropped nearly 4%.
Following the United States at 50% comes Korea, who holds a total of 16% of the market share. Japan is now reduced to 3rd with 14%.
Industry experts say although Korea is in 2nd place for the market share, they still rely too heavily on memory chips.
