According to data from the U.S. National Institutes of Health, the Korea National Enterprise for Clinical Trials has determined Seoul to be the world's top city in terms of clinical trials for developing new medicine. This is the second consecutive year. A little over 1 percent of all clinical trials worldwide were conducted in the Korean capital, more than any other city.
New York City and Houston were second and third on the list, respectively. By country, the United States sits firmly as number one. Nearly 40 percent of all clinical trials last year were conducted in the U.S., followed by Germany, Japan and France. Korea is ranked 10th at nearly two percent.
