Korea is The Fastest Aging Country

Korea's population is aging at the fastest pace among advanced economies. Those aged 65 and older accounted for 12.2 percent of the country's total population of about 50 million, according to a report released on Tuesday by the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade. That's the 30th-highest proportion among the 34 OECD member nations.
In terms of the pace at which the population is aging, Korea sits at No. 1. Japan is 2nd, followed by Finland. This along with Korea's fast plummeting birthrate could create problems for the nation's economy.
