Korea Wins Gold in Men’s Kayak at 2014 Incheon Asian Games

Korean paddler Cho Gwang-hee won a gold medal in the men's kayak single at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon. This is Korea's first gold medal in 24 years since canoe was officially adopted as a competitive sport at the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing.
Cho finished the 200-m sprint with a time of 35.464 seconds in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, securing the gold. Uzbekistan's Ernest Iranazarov finished second with a time of 36.531 seconds, while Japan's Seiji Komatsu came in third (36.754 seconds). "I hope to become the first Korean paddler to win an Olympic medal," Cho said after winning the race.
