A web-based drama co-produced by South Korea and China has garnered over 30 million views in China, according to its local producers. "Thumping Spike 2," produced by Korea's Kim Jong-hak Productions and its Chinese counterpart Sohu.com, had gained over 20 million views in just a month after its first broadcast on Sept. 24 via the Chinese portal site (http://tv.sohu.com/), its producer here said Monday. On its 52nd day of run, the series surpassed 30 million views, according to The Tic Toc.

The romantic comedy stars actress Kim So-eun as nerdy bookworm Han Da-woon, and actor Lee Won-geun as Dong Hae-sung, her love counselor and also an ex-volleyball player.

Previous collaborations by the two producers include "High End Crush" and "Gogh, The Starry Night," both web dramas.
