The Korea Football Association has vowed to support under-23 manager Lee Kwang-jong, who has stepped down from his post after being diagnosed with leukemia. Korean football's governing body said it would not only assist Lee with his medical costs and recovery, but would also welcome him back to the association when he's ready.
The KFA's gesture is a measure of all the 50-year-old coach has done for the nation's football program, most recently leading Korea to gold at last year's Asian Games.
