Koreatown-Bangladesh Town issue
Jun Ko, May 21, 2018, 11:58 a.m.
There have been a lot of misinformation going around the future situation of Koreatown. Word of Koreatown being cut into less than half of its original space has been gaining traction amongst the community, however, the information proves to be false. The suggested boundary given by the Little Bangladesh Neighborhood Council only indicates the boundary that the formed neighborhood council will oversee.
However, people are still showing their concerns from the created council as many believe that it will take away from the allocated funds from Koreatown.
The Vote-By-Mail (VBM) Application Period is currently ongoing until June 12th. The ballots will be sent out on May 21st. With the entire voting process coming to an end on June 19th, people are encouraged to submit an application for their ballot and to send in their vote as soon as possible.
People are able to submit their application for the VBM method here: https://clerkappsele.lacity.org/vbmreg/#/vbm
But for those that have missed the VBM period, there is still a chance to get in votes by going in-person. The in-person polling locations will be available only on June 19th from 2PM to 8PM at the Harvard Elementary School's Multi-Purpose Room (330 N. Harvard Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90004) and at the Founders Church of Religious Science's Hornaday Hall (3281 W. 6th St. Los Angeles, CA 90020).
