First place winner of survival reality program 'Kpop Star 4', Katie Kim, has decided to sign with YG Entertainment for her upcoming debut. On April 13th, CEO and founder, Yang Hyun Suk announced that Katie Kim will be making her debut soon, but will first work on her health by eating well and working out to obtain a healthy physique and maintain her strong voice.
Papa YG also stated that once Katie is in good shape, her voice will become much stronger and that she will exude a natural beauty. Due to a minor incident during the program, when Yang Hyun Suk noticed that Katie wasn't able to sing with strength because she wasn't eating well, the CEO plans to put her health first. He also mentioned that he is currently in deep thought over Katie Kim's debut, planning out ideas to make sure that it is a memorable one.
Despite his reputation for delayed debuts and comebacks, such as YG's anticipated new girl group and Big Bang's comeback, Yang Hyun Suk reassured fans that Katie Kim will make a quick return to the music scene, similar to previous Kpop Star contestants (i.e., Lee Hi and Akdong Musician) who were picked up by YG Entertainment, who debuted only a few months after the show ended.
Katie Kim, who beat out finalist Jung Seung Hwan, showed her gratitude towards YG, commenting, "YG has always guided and assisted me. He's always enjoyed my performances as well. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him."
The U.S. native wowed viewers with her soulful, husky voice, and proved herself to be a force to be reckoned with. Stay tuned for updates, here on Koogle TV!
