President Moon Jae-in will meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the Peace House in the truce village of Panmunjom on April 27, according to a joint statement announced after high-level talks between the two Koreas on Thursday. Officials from the two Koreas met to discuss a scheduled inter-Korean summit in April at Panmunjom and they reached an agreement on the date and venue for the summit.
Both sides also agreed to hold another working-level talk early next week to discuss further details. The last inter-Korean summit was held more than a decade ago when then President Roh Moo-hyun met Kim's father, Kim Jong-il in Pyongyang in October 2007.
