The owner of actor Lee Jong Suk’s former management agency was sentenced Wednesday to a two-and-a-half year jail term for forging contract documents. The man surnamed Cho appealed to the Seoul Central District Court after he had been sentenced to three years behind bars in December 2015 by the district court.
The reduced jail term Wednesday was given out as Cho, 46, appeared to have “deeply repented his wrongdoing.” Cho had convinced an entertainment agency and a TV series producer to respectively invest 480 million won ($423,000) and 300 million won in his company, by using fabricated documents. Cho had assured them that Lee had extended his contact with the agency. However, this was not the case.
The investments have not been returned.
