Lee Kun Hee was named as the richest person in Korea

Comatose Samsung chief Lee Kun-hee was named as the richest person in Korea, with total wealth of US$16.8 billion, in a list of Korea's 50 richest people released by Forbes on Thursday. Amore Pacific chairman Suh Kyung-bae ranked second with $6.7 billion.
Lee's son, de facto Samsung chief Lee Jae-yong, was at No. 3 with $6.2 billion, which was unchanged from last year. He is currently behind bars facing bribery charges.
Making their first appearances on the list this year are Netmarble Games founder Bang Jun-hyuk at No. 24, Ottogi chairman Ham Young-joon at 47, and Hyosung president Cho Hyun-sang at 49.
