Less Than 20% of New Employees in Public Sector are Female

Women still make up only a tiny proportion of workers in the public sector. According to market watcher CEO Score, among some 2,500 new employees hired as of the end of September at 30 public institutions, just 490 or fewer than 20 percent were female. That's down five percentage points from three years ago.
Eleven public institutions didn't hire any women at all. The glass ceiling also remains intact when it comes to promotions for female workers. Out of 148 executives, only two, or just over one percent were women.
