The LG Group donated W10 billion on Wednesday to a fund proposed by President Park Geun-hye to create jobs for young people (US$1=W1,133). LG chairman Koo Bon-moo donated W7 billion and other LG executives W3 billion.
Koo is the third conglomerate owner to chip in following Samsung chairman Lee Kun-hee and Hyundai chairman Chung Mong-koo. "We joined the fundraising campaign because we sympathize with the purpose of the fund to help young people fulfill their dreams and hopes," an LG executive said.
