M Rock Valley Festival to Bring International Rockers

The M Rock Valley Festival will start its three-day run on Friday in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province. Over 80 combos will perform this year after the festival was canceled last year following the Sewol ferry disaster. Big names include Foo Fighters, formed in 1994 by Dave Grohl, the drummer of legendary Nirvana. They will visit Korea for the first time.  Due to a broken leg, Grohl will perform sitting down.

Heavy metal dinosaurs Motorhead are also scheduled to brew up a storm out for the first time in Korea. Rock fans should brace themselves for mosquito attacks in the humid summer heat, though the organizers have promised to do what they can to fight them.  A one-day ticket costs W135,000, a two-day one W198,000, and three-day one W234,000 (US$1=W1,156).
