MBC in trouble for using controversial Ilbe photo in BTS news segment

On the September 7 broadcast of MBC's "News Today," the program used a silhouette image of a man to represent CEO Lee who blackmailed Big Hit Entertainment over alleged illegal marketing. However, the image they used was from controversial site Ilbe.
Ilbe is known for having misogynistic users who use freedom of speech as a right to make any controversial statement they want. A controversial thing they have done that they are infamous for is mocking former President Roh Moo Hyun's suicide and starting a hate campaign against him.
And the image that MBC used was actually a photo of Roh Moo Hyun that Ilbe users made to mock the former President.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time that MBC has accidentally used this image. "Section TV" used the image to cover Cha Seung Won's son's story back in 2014. They also used the image on "Good Day" in 2013 and "News Desk" in 2015.
Media outlet Sports Kyunghyang reached out to a rep at MBC, hoping the rep could clarify the issue of using the Ilbe image. However, because of the strike, the media outlet were unable to get in contact with the rep.
Netizens have commented on the broadcast station's repeated use of the image, criticizing, "MBC is definitely part of Ilbe", "They're like the root of Ilbe", "Of course, stupid MBC", "MBC must really love former President Roh", "Ilbe broadcasts = MBC", "Crazy bastards", "What is wrong with them."
