There has been a sudden rise in popularity for shows like “Show Me The Money” and “Unpretty Rapstar”, which have skilled contestants battling each other in a competition styled show which determines who gets to remain on the show and who is eliminated and sent home. It seems that rap culture in Korea is slowly becoming mainstream, and a few artists aren’t happy with this.

MC Meta released the music video for “Show Me the Hip-Hop” featuring Choi Sam, and the lyrics clearly call out “Unpretty Rapstar” and “Show Me The Money” for not properly representing real hip-hop, but instead focusing on making money and also stating that it is a bad influence on the younger generation.

The beginning of the music video kicks off with clips from controversial events that happen during the fourth season of “Show Me The Money”, which includes the disorganized “freestyle battle” where contestants went crazy as they tried to dive for the microphone, Song Min Ho’s spread your legs” rap, and Blacknut taking his pants off. The “spread your legs” lines are also mentioned in Choi Sam’s lyrics as well as how people continue to say “hip-hop is always like that”.

Be sure to watch the music video above and judge whether or not you think the lyrics are over the line, or if the two have a valid point. You heard it here at Koogle.tv!
